Johnrandallia nigrirostris

These fish are peaceful to most other fish, but might haress similar looking fish. They live in large schools over coral and rocky reefs. In an aquarium they can best be kept alone unless the tank is large enough to accomodate a group. They're real omnivores feeding on algae, gastropods and small crustaceans. They even act as cleaner fish for larger fishes. They're probably the most reef safe butterflyfish, but they can eat up your clean-up crew, so keep this in mind before adding them to a reef tank! Feed them a varied diet of live and frozen meaty foods, but make sure to also include algae based foods like pellets and flakes, to make them really happy!
