Alkalinity Checker
HI772 Details:
The Hanna Marine Alkalinity (dKH) Checker® bridges the gap between simple chemical test kits and professional instrumentation. Chemical test kits have limited accuracy and resolution since they rely upon the human eye to discern differences in color. Professional instrumentation incorporates a light source such as an LED or tungsten lamp with a filter and a light sensing detector to precisely determine absorbance and ion concentration. This level of instrumentation also offers greater resolution and accuracy, but can cost hundreds of dollars. The Hanna Marine Alkalinity Checker® measures alkalinity in dKH units, using a fixed wavelength LED and silicon photo detector to provide the accuracy of professional instrumentation at the affordable price of a chemical test kit.
- Compact, Portable Design
- Built-in Timer
- One-Button Operation
The HI772 Checker®HC (Handheld Colorimeter) provides a simple, accurate and cost-effective way to measure alkalinity in degrees of calcium hardness, commonly abbreviated as dKH. Critical to marine environments, alkalinity not only provides the carbonate ion required for calcium carbonate skeletal regeneration of coral reefs, but it also acts as a pH buffer against large changes in acidity. Designed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits, the HI772 provides quick, accurate results in four easy steps:

Features at-a-glance:
- Easier to use and more accurate than chemical test kits
- Dedicated to a single parameter
- Small size, big convenience
- Ideal for: Aquaculture & Aquariums, Water Quality

HI772-11 Details:
The Marine Alkalinity (dKH) Checker® HC Calibration Check Set – HI772-11 provides a simple solution to validating the Marine Alkalinity Checker® HC – HI772 that has a range of 0.0 to 20.0 dKH. This high-quality set of standards is manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility and comes supplied with a Certificate of Analysis. The Certificate of Analysis provides the lot number, reference values and expiration date for traceability when certifying the Checker®HC.
- Standard value of 100 ±10 ppm CaCO3 @ 25℃
- Reusable with long shelf life stability
HI772-11 is a high-quality set of calibration standards that allows users to validate the Marine Alkalinity Checker® HC – HI772. The HI772-11 includes one sealed cuvette for zero dKH and one cuvette that is tinted to an equivalent 100 ±10 ppm CaCO3 dKH sample @ 25℃. The calibration check set is produced in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility using reagent grade chemicals in a temperature controlled environment.
HI772-26 Details:
The HI772-26 are the replacement reagents for the Marine Alkalinity (dKH) Checker® HC – HI772 and can be used with the Marine Alkalinity Checker® HC – HI755 . These high-quality reagents are manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility and are clearly marked with the lot number and expiration date on each packet for traceability.
- Pre-made reagents for ease of use
- Prepared with high purity chemicals
- Marked with expiration date and lot number for traceability
The HI772-26 are high-quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate measurements with the Marine Alkalinity Checker® HC. These reagents follow the Colorimetric Method in which the reaction causes a distinctive range of colors from yellow to green to blue to develop. By simply adding the packet of HI772-26 reagent to the sample, the reaction will take place and the Marine Alkalinity Checkers will determine the concentration from the color that is produced. The results will be displayed in ppm of CaCO3 for the HI755 Checker or in dKH for the HI772 Checker . These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0 to 300 ppm CaCO3 or 0.0 to 20.0 dKH.
