Ammonia Checker (Freshwater)
HI700 Details:
The Hanna Ammonia Low-Range Checker® bridges the gap between simple chemical test kits and professional instrumentation. Chemical test kits have limited accuracy and resolution since they rely upon the human eye to discern differences in color. Professional instrumentation incorporates a light source such as an LED or tungsten lamp with a filter and a light sensing detector to precisely determine absorbance and ion concentration. Professional instrumentation offers greater resolution and accuracy but can cost hundreds of dollars. The Hanna Ammonia Low-Range Checker® uses a fixed wavelength LED and silicon photo detector to provide the accuracy of professional instrumentation at the affordable price of a chemical test kit.
- Compact, Portable Design
- Built-in Timer
- One-Button Operation
The HI700 Checker® HC (Handheld Colorimeter) is a simple, accurate and cost effective way to measure ammonia. Present in water as a component of the nitrogen cycle, ammonia is excreted from animals and other organisms such as heterotrophic bacteria, actinomycetes, and fungi during the metabolism of proteins and amino acids. Generally present in small quantities in unpolluted waters, higher levels indicate organic pollution, and is toxic to aquatic life. Designed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits, the HI700 provides quick, accurate results in four easy steps:

Features at-a-glance:
- Easier to use and more accurate than chemical test kits
- Dedicated to a single parameter
- Small size, big convenience
- Ideal for: Water quality, Environmental, Plating, Education

HI700-25 Details:
The HI700-25 are the replacement reagents for the HI700 Ammonia Low-Range Checker® HC. These high-quality reagents are manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility and are clearly marked with the lot number and expiration date on each bottle for traceability.
- Pre-made reagents for ease of use
- Prepared with high-purity chemicals
- Marked with expiration date and lot number for traceability
The HI700-25 are high-quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing users to achieve fast and accurate measurements with their Ammonia Checker® HC. These reagents follow the Nessler Method in which the reaction between ammonia and reagents causes a yellow tint in the sample. By simply adding 4 drops from each bottle of HI700-25 reagent set to the sample, the reaction will take place and the HI700 will determine the concentration from the color that is produced. The results will be displayed in ppm (mg/L) of ammonia-nitrogen (NH3-N). These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0.00 to 3.00 ppm ammonia-nitrogen. To convert the reading to ppm of ammonia (NH3) multiply the result by 1.214.
