Apogon maculatus
Apogon maculatus, commonly known as the Flame cardinalfish, is the Western Atlantic nephew of A. dovii. The same thing can be said about these fish: they're reef safe, friendly and easy. It's even more brightly colored than dovii, but it also grows a little larger. They can be kept as a couple, but in our opinion these are some of the best options to keep in a school for those that want a schooling fish but don't own a huge tank.
