Chaetodon argentatus

Chaetodon argentatus, commonly known as the Asian butterflyfish, is a medium-sized butterflyfish. Their body is white with with a black pattern of large scales on it which becomes a little yellowish towards the belly. A small black bar is running through the eye and three wide bars on the body. Their caudal fin has black vertical stripes in it. 

These fish are quite peaceful to most other fish, but might haress similar looking fish. They live most of their live solitary on the coral reef or in rocky areas but they do form pairs for breeding. In an aquarium they can best be kept alone unless a proven pair can be found. They're real omnivores feeding on all sort of worms and other invertebrates, but they're also facultative corallivores, meaning they do eat but don't need corals. This makes them not really suitable for most reef tanks though, but a perfect pick for a fish-only tank! Feed them a varied diet of live and frozen meaty foods to make them really happy!
