Ecsenius nalolo
Ecsenius nalolo, commonly known as the Nalolo blenny, is a small blenny. Their base colour is creamwhite with brownish to red and white spots that are horizontally and vertically aligned. Beautiful eyes and the fact that they are always on the lookout on a coral, make them a subtile but very nice addition to a tank.
These fish are usually found solitary in shallow coastal waters with rich coral growth and fit perfect in a reef tank. Just be sure to have rocks with small holes they can hide in before introducing them. In a very large aquarium multiple blennies is possible as long as enough territories can be formed, but in a small tank they can best be kept alone or as a proven pair. They feed mainly on zooplankton and can best be fed with live and frozen food like copepods, artemia and small gammarus, but usually will learn to feed on high quality flakes and pellets as well!
