Plerogyra simplex

Plerogyra simplex, commonly known as the Grape Bubble Coral, is a large-polyp stony (LPS) coral recognized for its clusters of small, grape-like vesicles that inflate during the day and retract at night to reveal feeding tentacles. Its bubbles are typically smaller and more numerous than those of other Plerogyra species, creating a textured, pearl-like appearance. This coral adds gentle movement and a unique visual element to reef aquariums.

Care in Aquariums:
• Lighting: Low to moderate
• Flow: Gentle, indirect; avoid strong currents
• Placement: Lower rockwork in a protected area; allow space to prevent contact with other corals
• Feeding: Benefits from occasional meaty foods such as mysis, brine shrimp, or finely chopped seafood
