Favites Coral (Brain Coral / Star Coral)

Favites corals, often called Brain corals or Star corals, are LPS corals known for their thick, round polyps and striking “honeycomb” patterns. They come in a variety of colors including green, red, purple, blue and orange, adding bold texture and visual interest to any reef tank. Maintain stable water parameters and moderate flow for best polyp extension and health. Favites are moderately hardy and make a beautiful centerpiece for both beginner and experienced reef aquarists.

Care in Aquariums:

• Lighting: Moderate
• Water Flow: Moderate
• Placement: Middle to bottom of the tank; give them space, as they can extend sweeper tentacles and sting nearby corals.
• Feeding: Mostly photosynthetic, but occasional feeding with small meaty coral foods can enhance growth and coloration.
