Acan bowerbanki (Bleeding Apple)

Acanthastrea corals, commonly called “Acans,” are colorful and hardy LPS (large polyp stony) corals popular in marine aquariums. They come in vibrant colors, fleshy polyps that expand beautifully under good lighting. Acans are relatively easy to care for, prefer moderate light and gentle water flow, and can be fed small meaty foods for faster growth and overall health.

Care in Aquariums:

• Lighting: Low to Moderate.
• Water Flow: Moderate.
• Placement: Middle to bottom of the tank. Make sure they have enough space, as other corals can easily harm or overgrow them.
• Feeding: Acanthastrea corals are photosynthetic but also benefit from meaty feedings to grow faster and display brighter colors. Feed Acans small meaty foods, such as mysis or brine shrimp. Avoid overfeeding to maintain stable water quality.
