Lucayablennius zingaro
Lucayablennius zingaro, commonly known as the Arrow blenny, is a very small blenny which looks more like a pipefish at first sight. Their body is mainly reddish and half translucent. There runs a bright yellow stripe from the tip of the nose to the tail and they’ve 5 black spots in the back half of the dorsal (3 spots) and anal (2 spots) fin.
These fish are mainly found on coral reefs, often seen with schools of Coryphopterus personatus and aren’t shy at all. If they do feel threatened, they hide in empty worm tubes or in holes in the rocks. They always drift with a bended tail hunting on small fish and crustaceans and can best be fed with live and frozen food like copepods, artemia and small gammarus, and sometimes will learn to feed on high quality flakes and pellets as well!
