Acanthurus nigricauda

Acanthurus nigricauda, commonly known as the Epaulette surgeonfish, is a large, less-known surgeonfish, easiest recognized for the thick black horizontal stripe behind the eye over the gill. It needs a large aquarium to grow to the magnificent fish it can become. It can be aggressive towards other fish, especially other tangs and food competitors, but once it is settled in the tank it usually poses no problem.

Like other tangs, it will eat meaty foods, but it's important it can graze on algae/seaweed the entire day to ensure it will stay healthy. So feed flakes/pellets multiple times a day and make sure there is always seaweed available.available.
