Acanthurus triostegus

Acanthurus triostegus, commonly known as the Convict tang, is a small schooling tang. Although not a very colourful fish, it does stand out in a reef tank due to its metallic silver and yellow body. And when multiple triostegus together graze your tank it's very peaceful to watch.

The combination with other tangs can give problems so be careful with this, but multiple triostegus introduced at the same time usually works well.

Like other tangs, it will eat meaty foods, but it's important it can graze on algae/seaweed the entire day to ensure it will stay healthy. So feed flakes/pellets multiple times a day and make sure there is always seaweed available.
