Centropyge hybrid (eibli)

Centropyge hybrid (eibli x flavissima), commonly known as the Tigerpyge, is a natural occurring hybrid of C. eibli and C. flavissima. And in our opinion they’ve inherited the best features of both parent animals, making this one of the most beautiful Centropyge of them all! They've the typical Centropyge body shape and their base colour is bright yellow just like flavissima. Over the yellow base colour they’ve the bright orange/red stripes of an eibli as well as the black caudal fin with blue markings in it. On the head they show grey to light blue markings and both the eye and the unpaied fins have a bright blue edge.

Like all other angelfish it's hermphroditic and the most dominant fish will turn into a male when there is no other male around. These fish are quite peaceful but be careful combining them with fish a lot smaller or larger and other (dwarf)angelfishes. Although dwarf angels are certainly more likely to be reef safe compared to their larger relatives and thus seen more often in reef tanks, they're always a risk. C. eibli and flavissima are both known to nip on corals from time to time, but usually not to the point they need to be removed and we expect this to be the same for the Tigerpyge. Certain corals like Acanthastrea and Blastomussa and clams can best be avoided if you want to play on safe. Keeping them well fed seems to reduce the risk so make sure to feed them a proper varied diet of algae and meaty foods to make them really happy!
