Pomacentrus moluccensis
Pomacentrus moluccensis, commonly known as the Lemon damsel, is a bright coloured damselfish. They are entirely yellow but sometimes even a little orangish. Some individuals develop purple marking on their head and in their anal and dorsal fins. These fish usually also have a small blue rim on those fins.
In nature these fish live is small groups where each individual has it's own territory. In an aquarium they usually ignore other fishes, but they can be aggressive when other fishes enter their territory. Keeping this fish in larger numbers will definetely make it shine, but make sure there is enough room to avoid these territories for the other fishes. They mainly feed on algae and planktonic crustaceans in the wild so make sure to offer a varied diet of algae and meat based high quality flakes and pellets.
