Heterodontus francisci

They range from beige to grey in base colour often with darker patches. They’ve small dark spots and the first spine of both dorsal fins have a horn which grows larger the older they get.
These fish inhabit all kind of rocky and kelp covered areas near the coast, where they hide (almost always on the same spot) during the day and hunt at night. They feed on all kind of invertebrates and fish, but mainly on sea urchins and crabs. They can best be fed with enriched frozen and live meaty foods like all kinds of shrimp, fish, crab and the occasionally mussel!
