Ctenochaetus hawaiiensis
Ctenochaetus hawaiiensis, commonly known as the Chevron tang, is a medium/large bristletooth tang. When young it has a bright orange body with yellow-orange tail and blue stripes on his body which flow into the blue dorsal and anal fin. One of the brightest coloured tangs. As it grows older it gets darker and darker though. Over the dark brown base colour they do develop a metallic green pattern of thin lines.
It can be aggressive towards other tangs and food competitors, but will generally leave other fish a lone. A great algae eater for a large sized tank and in our opinion this is a very underrated fish.
Like other tangs, it will eat meaty foods, but it's important it can graze on algae/seaweed the entire day to ensure it will stay healthy. So feed flakes/pellets multiple times a day and make sure there is always seaweed available.
