Rhinecanthus aculeatus
Rhinecanthus aceleatus, commonly known as the White-banded triggerfish, is a medium-large triggerfish, regularly seen in the aquarium hobby.Their Hawaiian name is: humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa (or just: humuhumu for short). This means something like: fish with a snout like a pig.
Although their base color ranges from white on their belly to greyish-creme on the back, they have a lot of stripes in different angles and colors on their body to make it a very interesting fish to watch. Combined with the unusual triggerfish shape and the fact that their head is almost half the body, a lot of people are attracted to this fish.
Remember it isn't reef safe though! It's an omnivore feeding on algae, detritus, mollusks, crustaceans, worms, sea urchins, fishes, tunicates, foraminifera, eggs, sponges, but might damage corals as well. It can also be agressive to other fishes, so make sure you pick the other fishes with care!
