Description

HI764 Details:

The HI-764 Hanna Ultra Low Range Nitrite Checker is ideal for salt water aquariums and coral reef tanks. With its fantastic ability to measure exceptionally low levels of nitrite, the HI-764 Nitrite Checker is great for aquarium maintenance.

Nitrites are an intermediate form of nitrogen produced when ammonia is converted into nitrate during the nitrogen cycle. As organic matter decays, it produces ammonia; the highly toxic ammonia is converted into nitrite by bacteria; and the nitrite is then converted into nitrate by another bacteria.

Nitrite is dangerous to aquatic life if it is allowed to build up, causing tissue damage that can lead to illness and death. By detecting even minute levels of nitrite, the Hanna Nitrite Checker can help aquarists to take action at the earliest possible moment and eliminate unnecessary suffering among the fish.

Checker®HC is supplied with reagents for 6 tests. Use code HI-764-25 (25 tests) for future purchases.

HI764-11 Details:

The Nitrite Marine Ultra Low Range Checker® HC Calibration Check Set – HI-764-11 provides a simple solution to validating the Nitrite Ultra Low Range Checker® HC – HI-764 that has a range of 0 to 200 ppb.

Hanna optional Checker HC Calibration Sets provide a simple solution to validating your Checker HC. Each high quality set of standards is manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility and comes supplied with a Certificate of Analysis. The certificate of Analysis provides the lot number, reference values and expiry date to provide traceability when certifying the Checker HC.

The HI-764-11 includes one sealed cuvette for zero ppb nitrite and one cuvette that is tinted to an equivalent 100 +/- 14 ppb nitrite sample @ 25°C. The calibration check set is produced using reagent grade chemicals in a temperature controlled environment.

HI764-25 Details:

The HI-764-25 are the replacement reagents for the HI-764 Nitrite Ultra Low Range Checker® HC.

These high-quality reagents are clearly marked with the lot number and expiry date on each packet for traceability.

The HI-764-25 are high quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate measurements with their Nitrite Ultra Low Range Checker® HC. These reagents follow the Diazotization Method in which the reaction between nitrite and reagent causes a pink tint in the sample. By simply adding the packet of HI-764-25 reagent to the sample, the reaction will take place and the HI-764 will determine the concentration from the colour that is produced. The results will be displayed in ppb of nitrite. These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0 to 200 ppb nitrite.

Tip for an accurate measurement

It is important that the sample does not contain any debris.

Whenever the cuvette is placed into the measurement cell, it must be dry outside and completely free of fingerprints, oil or dirt. Wipe it thoroughly with HI-731318 or a lint-free cloth prior to insertion.

Shaking the cuvette can generate bubbles, causing higher readings. To obtain accurate measurements, remove such bubbles by swirling or by gently tapping the cuvette.

Do not let the reacted sample stand for too long after reagent is added, or accuracy will be lost.

After the reading, it is important to discard the sample immediately, otherwise the glass might become permanently stained.
