Phosphat Stop

ATI® Phos Stop is a highly effective iron-based adsorbent (GFO) that primarily removes phosphate, but also silicate, organic compounds and heavy metals such as copper from the water. Excessive phosphate and silicate levels in reef aquariums are one of the main causes of unwanted algae and degenerating or dying corals. ATI® Phos Stop is ideal for use in reef aquariums because it quickly absorbs the unwanted substances and prevents them from being released into the aquarium water, even after extended use. With Phos Stop, you achieve noticeably improved water quality, thus preventing unwanted algal infestations.

Technical Data:

• Granule size 0.5 to 2 mm
• Huge surface area of ​​230 m²/g
• Removes up to 15,000 mg of phosphate in seawater and up to 60,000 mg in freshwater per kg
• Removes up to 10,000 mg of silicate per kg
• Removes up to 8,000 mg of heavy metals (e.g. copper) per kg

Application:

• Dosage: 50-150 ml (approx. 30-90 g) per 100 liters (26 gal) of aquarium water. Adjust according to phosphate or silicate level
• Rinse briefly with water before use to remove any abrasion
• Phos Stop is best used in a media reactor. Alternatively, a filter sock can be used
• Phos Stop should be allowed to flow slowly. Avoid channeling. Knead the filter sock from time to time while out of the water
• Regularly monitor phosphate levels and, if necessary, silicate levels during use. Target values: Phosphate 0.03 to 0.1 mg/l (ppm), silicate below 0.1 mg/l (ppm)
• If phosphate and silicate levels no longer decrease, replace Phos Stop
