Emergency Overflow

Deltec skimmers are characterized by particularly good skimming results. The Deltec Skimmer 600iz features a newly developed emergency overflow. This prevents the skimmer from "boiling over" when the water level rises. This can happen, for example, if the feed pump stops working and additional water flows into the sump. The water level also rises if there are problems with the air supply, e.g., due to a kink in the silicone hose or foreign objects in the air intake line. This can cause the skimmer to "boil over," causing the water to rise so high that it is forced into the skimmer cup, and the skimmer solution is flushed back into the aquarium. This leads to extreme water pollution. The Emergency Overflow made by Deltec prevents this and thus protects the aquarium from contamination.

Emergency Overflow Pipe & Regulator Pipe

The water level in the skimmer can be read from the emergency overflow pipe. In addition, minimum and maximum markings help with the optimal water level adjustment. The ability to swap the emergency overflow pipe with the regulator pipe allows the user to decide how the pipes are arranged.

Pump

The Deltec Skimmer 600i is powered by the Deltec DCC 2 Pump. This 24V DC pump is adjustable via a ten-stage controller and can therefore be optimally adjusted to the water level and water load. At level 5 (optimal for most aquariums), 500 liters of air are generated. The maximum air flow is 900 liters of air per hour.

The ergonomic cylindrical shape

Thanks to its ergonomic cylindrical shape, the Deltec Skimmer 600iz achieves optimal skimming results. The shape of the skimmer does not taper towards the top. This allows the small air bubbles to rise unhindered, are fully saturated, and only burst in the riser tube of the skimmer cup.

Hollow-chamber bottom

An additional innovation of the Deltec Skimmer 600iz is the hollow-chamber bottom. This helps to further dampen noise, which is why the already quiet Deltec Skimmer 600iz is described as "whisper-quiet." Furthermore, the water flows back through the hollow-chamber bottom. This means that the water is drained from the skimmer at the lowest possible point, preventing almost any air bubbles from entering the aquarium.

Disassembly, Dimensions & Assembly

Regularly required cleaning of the pump is made very easy by the simple and quick disassembly of the skimmer. The Deltec Skimmer 600iz can be assembled and disassembled without tools. Our tests have shown that the pump can be removed from the skimmer in less than 20 seconds.

The dimensions of our skimmer are designed so that you can conveniently install it in your filter tank. The high volume of the cylindrical shape means that a small footprint is sufficient. You can operate the Deltec Skimmer 600iz variably at water depths of 15 cm to 25 cm.
