Description

We use two species of microalgae for the cultivation of rotifers: Easy Reefs ® Nannochloropsis (80%) + Tetraselmis (20%).

Storage . Store Easyroti in a dark, dry, and cool place. The storage temperature should not exceed 25°C. In summer, if temperatures are higher, it is recommended to store it in a climate-controlled room.

Once opened, the expiration date remains the same, even after use. This is because the bag compresses as the gel is dispensed. This prevents air from entering the bag, thus preventing the phytoplankton from oxidizing.

Composition:

Nannochloropsis (80%) + Tetraselmis (20%).

Cell concentration: 5 x 10 9 cells/ ml

Instructions for use:

It is recommended to distribute the Easyroti dosage throughout the day.

For proper dispersion, Easyroti must be introduced into the culture tank, previously diluted in water from the same culture.

Easyroti can be added automatically using a dosing pump, provided that proper dispersion of the product is ensured.

Dosage:

To maintain a rotifer culture, follow these instructions:

  • Materials needed: Three 2L cylindrical containers with gentle aeration via a hollow rod. Initial rotifer inoculum.
  • Required food: Easyroti : Nannochloropsis (80%) + Tetraselmis (20%).
  • Growing cycle from seedling: 5 days.

We will call "seawater" the water prepared with salts for marine aquariums at a density of 1019-1022.

The temperature of the crop should be kept between 20-28 ° C, with 24 ° C being optimal.

To filter the rotifer, it is necessary to use a 50 micron mesh.

It consists of a parallel cultivation system in which, starting on day 6, a continuous supply of food is obtained for the aquarium. One container is for " Strain" and another for " Production . "

The dosage data detailed below are under ideal conditions, assuming the ideal rotifer density. Occasionally, the amount of algae added may not meet the rotifer's needs. If the microalgae are depleted (the water becomes clear and yellowish), it indicates that the dosage was insufficient. When rotifers go without food for more than 4 hours, the number of eggs decreases, and therefore the population growth rate also declines. It is essential that the rotifers always have food available.

Rotifers are very sensitive to changes in the water's physical and chemical parameters. If water quality deteriorates rapidly, the rotifer population will be affected. If excessive dirt is observed in the tube, filter the rotifers and inoculate them into a clean container, adding the necessary algae.

With experience, the intensity of the green color will indicate the amount of algae needed; you could even develop your own protocol. There is no difference between live algae and Easyroti for use as food.

A 5 mm diameter rod is inserted into the culture tube with very gentle aeration (5-10 bubbles per second) to ensure a homogeneous mixture of the culture. Excessive turbulence causes the rotifers to lose their eggs, preventing them from hatching.

It is recommended to distribute the feeding dose in two or more feedings per day, but due to time constraints, rotifers are usually fed once a day.

DAY 1

Initial conditions: “Strain” culture with 500 ml of seawater.

Number of rotifers: 400 rot./ml to 600 rot./ml and 4 ml of Easyroti Nannochloropsis (80%) + Tetraselmis (20%).

Final conditions: The culture will have a final volume of 1 L with algae.

Instructions: Disperse 4 ml of Easyroti in 0.5 L of seawater. Add the rotifer inoculum.

 DAY 2

Initial conditions: 1 L of rotifer culture. It will be almost transparent and almost algae-free.

Estimated number of rotifers: 500 rot./ml

Final conditions: The culture will have a final volume of 1.4 L with algae.

Instructions: Disperse 4 ml of Easyroti in 0.5 L of seawater and add 0.4 L to the rotifer culture.

DAY 3

Initial conditions: 1.4 L of rotifer culture. It will be almost transparent and almost algae-free.

Estimated number of rotifers: 500-600 rot./ml

Final conditions: The culture will have a final volume of 1.8 L with algae.

Instructions: Disperse 8 ml of Easyroti in 0.5 L of seawater and add 0.4 L to the rotifer culture.

DAY 4

Initial conditions : 1.8 L of rotifer culture. It will be almost transparent and almost algae-free.

Estimated number of rotifers: 600 rot./ml.

Final conditions: The culture will have a final volume of 2 L with algae.

Instructions: Disperse 6 ml of Easyroti in 0.25 L of seawater and add 0.2 L to the rotifer culture.

DAY 5

Initial conditions: 2 L of rotifer culture. It will be almost transparent and almost algae-free.

Estimated number of rotifers: 700-800 rot./ml.

From this "Cepa" culture , a partial harvest of 0.5 L is made to start a new "Cepa" culture in another 2 L container and start a new cycle just like on day 1.

The old “Strain” culture , from now on, will be the “Production” culture . We will add Easyroti and bring it up to 2 L. If the container is too dirty, we should transfer it to a clean one to continue the production culture.

Instructions: In the "Production" culture , add 8 ml of Easyroti previously dispersed in 0.5 L of seawater. In the "Strain" culture , start a new cycle from day 1.

DAY 6

Initial conditions: “Strain” culture the same as on day 2. “Production” culture 2 L with 800 rot./ml will be almost transparent and almost without algae.

The "Production" culture will be used to harvest 0.5 L daily for use as food in the aquarium (even if the aquarium is not being fed, the harvest should still be done to feed the rotifers with algae). Whenever 0.5 L is harvested, 0.5 L containing 8 ml of Easyroti should be added .

The "Production" culture will be maintained until the container is dirty (5-7 days).

When the "Strain" crop reaches day 5, it will become a "Production" crop, and a new "Strain" crop will be created in parallel, just as explained for day 5.

We will empty the old "Production" crop and proceed to clean and disinfect it.

Why microalgae?

Tetraselmis Chuii:

  • Due to its high content of antioxidants Superoxide Dismutase, Catalase and Glutathione Peroxidase.
  • High digestibility for filter feeders and zooplankton.
  • It provides a high content of polysaccharides, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), pigments and other lipid compounds.
  • It increases the fertility of the rotifer.

Nannochloropsis gaditana

  • It provides a lipid profile very rich in EPA and ARA
  • High content of high quality Omega 3 Fatty Acids (EPA).
  • Source of natural vitamins and antioxidants.

What makes it unique?

  • It is the product on the market, in liquid form, with the highest concentration of cells 5 x 10 9 cells/ml and also does not need refrigeration during its storage to maintain all its original nutritional properties intact.
  • Its packaging provides insulation from light and oxygen so that the quality of the product is not altered during storage and use.
  • Easyroti's packaging ensures that the product's shelf life remains unchanged after use. The flexible pouch compresses when the product is removed, preventing oxygen from entering the package and thus preserving its initial condition.
  • The microalgae that make up Easyroti are cultivated in closed photobioreactors under conditions that meet human and animal food safety standards. These cultivation conditions guarantee the absence of pathogens that could negatively affect a reef ecosystem.
