The Hanna Freshwater Alkalinity Checker® bridges the gap between simple chemical test kits and professional instrumentation. Chemical test kits have limited accuracy and resolution since they rely upon the human eye to discern differences in color. Professional instrumentation incorporates a light source such as an LED or tungsten lamp with a filter and a light sensing detector to precisely determine absorbance and ion concentration. Professional instrumentation offers greater resolution and accuracy but can cost hundreds of dollars. The Hanna Freshwater Alkalinity Checker® uses a fixed wavelength LED and silicon photo detector to provide the accuracy of professional instrumentation at the affordable price of a chemical test kit.

The HI775 Checker® HC (Handheld Colorimeter) provides a simple, accurate and cost-effective way to measure alkalinity. Present in varying concentrations in freshwater bodies, alkalinity, from carbonate and noncarbonate salts, provides a buffer against drastic pH changes in water. Used in the drinking water treatment process, the concentration of alkalinity dictates which chemicals are used and at what volumes, as well as protecting finished, potable drinking water in the distribution system. If being used to test samples where chlorine is present the HI93755-53 Chlorine remover is available so that any possibility of a chlorine interference is avoided. Designed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits, the HI775 provides quick, accurate results in four easy steps.

HI775-26 Details:

The HI775-26 are the replacement reagents for the HI775 Freshwater Alkalinity Checker® HC. These high-quality reagents are manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility and are clearly marked with the lot number and expiration date on each packet for traceability.

The HI775-26 are high-quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate measurements with their Freshwater Alkalinity Checker® HC. These reagents follow the Colorimetric Method in which the reaction causes a distinctive range of colors from yellow to green to blue to develop. By simply adding one drop of the Chlorine Remover to remove the chlorine interference, and subsequently adding 1 mL of the Alkalinity Reagent to the sample, the reaction will take place and the HI775 will determine the concentration from the color that is produced. The results will be displayed in ppm of CaCO₃ . These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0 to 500 ppm CaCO₃.

HI775-11 Details:

The Freshwater Alkalinity Checker HC® Calibration Check Set – HI775-11 provides a simple solution to validating the Freshwater Alkalinity Checker® HC – HI775 that has a range of 0 to 500 ppm CaCO₃. This high-quality set of standards is manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility and comes supplied with a Certificate of Analysis. The Certificate of Analysis provides the lot number, reference values and expiration date for traceability when certifying the Checker® HC.

HI775-11 is a high-quality set of calibration standards that allows users to validate the Freshwater Alkalinity Checker® HC – HI775 . The HI 775-11 includes one sealed cuvette for zero ppm CaCO₃ and one cuvette that is tinted to an equivalent 100 ±10 ppm CaCO₃ sample @ 25℃. The calibration check set is produced in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility using reagent grade chemicals in a temperature controlled environment.
