The HI-733 Checker is a simple, accurate, and cost effective way to measure high ranges of ammonia in fresh water.

Designed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits, the HI-733 provides quick, accurate results in four easy steps.

The HI-733 uses an adaptation of the ASTM Manual of water and Environmental Technology D1426-92, Nessler Method. The reaction between ammonia and reagents causes a yellow tint in the sample.

The Ammonia High Range Checker® HC Calibration Check Set – HI-733-11 provides a simple solution to validating the Ammonia High Range Checker® HC – HI-733 that has a range of 0.0 to 99.9 ppm (mg/L) as NH4+.

Hanna optional Checker HC Calibration Sets provide a simple solution to validating your Checker HC. Each high quality set of standards is manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility and comes supplied with a Certificate of Analysis.

The certificate of Analysis provides the lot number, reference values and expiry date to provide traceability when certifying the Checker HC.

HI-733-11 is a high-quality set of calibration standards that allows users to validate the Ammonia High Range Checker®HC – HI-733.

The HI-733-11 includes one sealed cuvette for zero ppm NH⁴+ and one cuvette that is tinted to an equivalent 25.00 +/- 2.0 ppm NH⁴+ sample @ 25°C. The calibration check set is produced using reagent grade chemicals in a temperature controlled environment.

HI733-25 Details:

HI-733-25 is a pre-made replacement reagent kit for the HI-733 Ammonia High Range Checker® HC. 

All reagents are manufactured to a high standard with high purity chemicals and clearly marked with the lot number and expiry date.

The HI-733-25 is a high-quality, pre-measured reagent allowing users to achieve fast and accurate measurements with their Ammonia High Range Checker® HC. These reagents follow the Nessler Method in which the reaction between ammonia and reagents causes a yellow tint in the sample.

By simply adding 9 mL from the first reagent bottle and subsequently 4 drops from the dropper bottle to the sample, the reaction will take place and the HI-733 will determine the concentration from the colour that is produced.

Results will be displayed in ppm (mg/L) of ammonia-nitrogen (NH₃-N). These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0.0 to 99.9 ppm ammonia-nitrogen. To convert the reading to ppm of ammonia (NH₃) multiply the result by 1.214.

Tip for an accurate measurement

It is important that the sample does not contain any debris.

Whenever the cuvette is placed into the measurement cell, it must be dry outside and completely free of fingerprints, oil or dirt. Wipe it thoroughly with HI-731318 or a lint-free cloth prior to insertion.

Shaking the cuvette can generate bubbles, causing higher readings. To obtain accurate measurements, remove such bubbles by swirling or by gently tapping the cuvette.

Do not let the reacted sample stand for too long after reagent is added, or accuracy will be lost.

After the reading, it is important to discard the sample immediately, otherwise the glass might become permanently stained.
