Description

HI721 Details:

The HI-721 pocket checker for iron gives quick, accurate results at the price of a chemical test kit.

  •  0.00 to 5.00 ppm
  •  Ideal for irrigation water
  •  Aquaculture

About 6.3% of the earth crust is made of iron with 43% of this amount held in the soil. As a result, iron is naturally present in most water supplies.

Left in the water, iron will not only stain pipework and swimming pool surfaces, or poison aquatic life, it will also affect the water taste and cause problems with animal feed lines.

Testing should therefore form an important part of any water monitoring process - particularly if you are checking your pool, watching the quality of water in your fish tank or needing to monitor water run-off.

Ideal for:

  • Swimming pools and spas
  • Aquaculture - marine, salt and fresh water
  • Quality control and ground water monitoring
  • Agriculture and small holdings

HI721-11 Details:

Hanna optional Checker HC Calibration Sets provide a simple solution to validating your Checker HC. Each high quality set of standards is manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility and comes supplied with a Certificate of Analysis. The certificate of Analysis provides the lot number, reference values and expiry date to provide traceability when certifying the Checker HC.

HI-721-11 is a high-quality set of calibration standards that allows users to validate the Iron Checker® HC – HI-721.

The HI-721-11 includes one sealed cuvette for zero ppm iron and one single-use standard cuvette that becomes tinted to an equivalent 1.00 +/- 0.06 ppm iron sample @ 25°C when the supplied reagent is added. The calibration check set is produced using reagent grade chemicals in a temperature controlled environment.

HI721-25 Details:

These high-quality reagents are clearly marked with the lot number and expiry date on each packet for traceability.

The HI-721-25 are high-quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate measurements with their Iron Checker® HC. These reagents follow the Phenanthroline Method in which the reaction between iron and reagent causes an orange tint in the sample. By simply adding the packet of HI-721-25 reagent to the sample, the reaction will take place and the HI-721 will determine the concentration from the colour that is produced. The results will be displayed in ppm (mg/L) of iron. These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0.00 to 5.00 ppm (mg/L) iron.

Tip for an accurate measurement

It is important that the sample does not contain any debris.

Whenever the cuvette is placed into the measurement cell, it must be dry outside and completely free of fingerprints, oil or dirt. Wipe it thoroughly with HI-731318 or a lint-free cloth prior to insertion.

Shaking the cuvette can generate bubbles, causing higher readings. To obtain accurate measurements, remove such bubbles by swirling or by gently tapping the cuvette.

Do not let the reacted sample stand for too long after reagent is added, or accuracy will be lost.

After the reading, it is important to discard the sample immediately, otherwise the glass might become permanently stained.
