HI719-11 Details:

The Magnesium Hardness Checker® HC Calibration Check Set – HI-719-11 provides a simple solution to validating the Magnesium Hardness Checker® HC – HI-719. This high-quality set of standards is supplied with a Certificate of Analysis.

HI-719-11 is a high-quality set of calibration standards that allows users to validate the Magnesium Hardness Checker®HC – HI-719. The HI-719-11 includes one sealed cuvette for zero ppm CaCO3 and one cuvette that is tinted to an equivalent 1.00 ± 0.20 ppm CaCO3sample @ 25°C. The calibration check set is produced using reagent grade chemicals in a temperature controlled environment.

HI719-25 Details:

The HI-719-25 are the replacement reagents for the HI-719 Magnesium Hardness Checker® HC. These high-quality reagents are clearly marked with the lot number and expiry date on each packet for traceability.

  •  Hardness
  •  25 tests

The HI-719-25 are high-quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate measurements with their Magnesium Hardness Checker® HC. These reagents follow the EDTA colorimetric method in which the reaction between magnesium and the reagent causes a violet tint in the sample. When the HI-719-25 reagents are added to the sample, the reaction will take place and the HI-719 will determine the concentration from the colour that is produced. The results will be displayed in ppm of magnesium hardness as CaCO3. These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0.00 to 2.00 ppm CaCO3.

Tip for an accurate measurement

It is important that the sample does not contain any debris.

Whenever the cuvette is placed into the measurement cell, it must be dry outside and completely free of fingerprints, oil or dirt. Wipe it thoroughly with HI-731318 or a lint-free cloth prior to insertion.

Shaking the cuvette can generate bubbles, causing higher readings. To obtain accurate measurements, remove such bubbles by swirling or by gently tapping the cuvette.

Do not let the reacted sample stand for too long after reagent is added, or accuracy will be lost.

After the reading, it is important to discard the sample immediately, otherwise the glass might become permanently stained.
