Manonichthys splendens - T.B.

Manonichthys splendens, commonly known as the Thread-finned dottyback, is a beautiful small fish from the dottyback family. Their body is covered in yellow to orange scales with a dark blue outline, making it look like lines of spots which continue in their large dorsal and anal fin. Both fins also have a bright blue rim. Their tricolored (yellow, black and bright blue) pectoral fins, yellow to orange caudal fin and dark stripe running through the eye make it a real gem to watch.

They're usually not really aggressive fish, but they do make a terratory and will defend this fiercely, even if the intruder is much larger. So although this fish won't need a large tank if kept alone, make sure the tank is large enough if combined with other fish. The tank should have enough space to provide the other fishes rom to swim while avoiding the dottybacks territory. These fish can best be kept alone or as a proven pair. They are carnivores, so make sure to feed them a varied diet of meaty live and frozen food combined with good quality flakes and pellets.

This fish is Tank Bred and will adapt to your aquarium easier compared to a wild caught specimen!
